How do I apply for a Perkins Loan?

The Federal Perkins Loan Program provides low interest loans to help needy students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The school is your lender and not all schools are eligible, since this is a campus based program.

Students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as part of the application process for a Perkins Loan. The FAFSA can be completed on the Web at https://www.fafsa.ed.gov.

General information about the Federal Perkins Loan Program is available online at: http://studentaid.ed.gov/types/loans/perkins

Students will then meet with their school's financial aid office to complete a Perkins promissory note in order to receive a loan.
